“ If you're unsure about visiting the reef please do it! This experience is perfect! It’s great for families, swimmers & non swimmers. The whole experience is just magic! Wonderful staff, very informative & helpful. The boat is very stable so no sea sickness. We saw a pod of whales on the way to the pontoon & a sail fish! The weather for us was perfect, we were very lucky but I’m sure it would always be an amazing experience. The submarine ride is excellent too! I just couldn’t recommended Quicksilver enough! Lunch was also fabulous. World class experience!

10 months agoOcean was calm, and even my daughter didn't get sick! Really enjoyed snorkelling. We saw a turtle😄. Semi-submersible reef viewing is really good for the little children. The lunch was surprisingly good! I enjoyed shrimp & seafood salad. Staff are friendly and helpful.
10 months agoWonderful day trip, beautiful experience, the Japanese diving instructor was professional and not pushing when he realized I am not comfortable putting my face down to the water. The platform setting created a safe environment for first-time snorkeling.
11 months agoGreat experience seeing the reef on a snorkeling ‘tour’ with a marine biologist. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and all staff on board were welcoming and helpful. We saw amazing coral and sea life including a turtle. Lunch on board was great too.
12 months agoA beautiful day out on the Great Barrier Reef with Quicksilver Cruises. My husband and two teenage daughters went diving for the second time, however, stated that they felt safer, more informed and less rushed than their first experience. I felt safe in the instructors' ability, experience and knowledge and because of this my family had an exceptional day, with many fond memories to be cherished.
2 years agoSeamless booking and boarding getting to the Reef. Fun time doing all the activities and a breeze getting back all good. The food provided was good the staff was friendly and very informative, they constantly asked questions and catered to our needs, they explained everything we needed to know well run indeed. Would recommend to anyone.
2 years agoThis trip comes with a mixed review. As a family with children, it would have got a 5 star. The boat ride was great - kids can move around and have lots of fun. For the child who didn't want to snorkel, he could go on the submarine or laugh at us snorkelling through the windows of the pontoon. So excellent value for him! As an adult, I would give it a 3 star (hence the average of 4 stars). The boat was VERY crowded, the pontoon and water were crowded. Also, the area for snorkelling was very restrictive. If you paid more money you were allowed to go further away but if not stay within the roped area which at times was crowded with people. Also, the "marine biologist" was very condescending about the fact that I had only paid for the basic package when I accidentally strayed beyond the roped compound. The sea life and especially the turtles were AMAZING. The reef was pretty but not like the photos - lots of damage and bleaching. In short - if you have small children this is a great option. If you prefer something a bit more personal then this is NOT the boat for you.
3 years agoGreat family day out for swimmers and snorkellers. We had fantastic weather, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The water was very clear, so we saw some amazing fish and corals, some large clams, a reef shark a and turtle. An awesome day for the whole family.
3 years agoGreat experience with lovely crew members. Both the boat and the pontoon are very good facilities and there was a good range of activities for both swimmers and non-swimmer. in fact, too many things to do and hard to squeeze them all in within such a short period of time!
4 years agoThere were 300 people on the boat the day that we went. But it didn’t feel too crowded. The staff are trained to be pretty efficient at handling lots of people at the same time. This was evident as soon as we got on the boat, we were served tea, coffee and hot chocolate really, really quickly for 300 people. There are lots of activities to do on the pontoon. The semisubmersible was surprisingly good and we saw four turtles while we were on it. When we went snorkelling the conditions were really wavy and rough despite it being a calm day with very little wind. We saw a giant turtle out of the reef and it was really good off to the left side of the snorkelling area. The food was adequate with only two hot dishes, one being a beef and broccoli stir-fry that was okay, and the other was a vegetable korma.
4 years ago“Take advantage of all the INCLUDED activities once out at the reef platform to take in the reef from all angles. These activities included the semi-submersible, underwater observatory, reef education presentations and more.”
