Calypso Reef Cruises
Help code: 3410-2DFD
Embark on a Port Douglas diving adventure and try an introductory dive with our professional PADI dive instructors to view the underwater world like never before. For the experienced divers (certified), join our PADI dive masters as they show you sheer walls of corals, caves and possibly drift dive (if conditions permit). For snorkellers, there is plenty to explore from the surface and guided tours are available.
Made up of four separate reefs that face out to the South Pacific Ocean, Agincourt Reef is regarded as one of the most significant sites of this natural wonder. Here you’ll find rich, diverse coral gardens that help form these protective ocean walls, filled with hard and soft corals as well as the reef’s most iconic species such as sharks, stingrays, turtles, whales*, groupers and cods, maori wrasse and parrotfish.
Tours depart the Reef Marina in Port Douglas at 8:45am and return at 4:30pm, so you'll have an entire day exploring the reef and cruising around this beautiful part of the world. If you're looking for an awesome day out on the Great Barrier Reef with food and equipment included, then this snorkel and dive cruise is the way to go!

4 years agoGreat company to do the outer reef with. Pickup and drop off at the hotel, comfortable vessel and well organized with divers/snorkelers. Equipment provided was in good condition and the lunch plentiful along with endless tea, coffee, snacks. Highly recommended.
5 years agoInstructions were very good. In regards to safety. The trip can be affected by lots of snorkelling causing overcrowding. I was told not to take my stinger suit off even though I was talking it off as I was coming out of the water. The scuba instructor was very stern about getting his scuba people in the water and doesn’t treat the other snorkelers as paying customers. Another boat broke down so we had to assist them. It is a young crowd who is employed. The captain is not friendly but seems very competent. Lunch was mostly eaten prior to me getting it because there was no warning about when it was served when you are snorkelling. So I did not see anything different from other trips. Thanks!
5 years agoAbsolutely value for money. It was our first time to do snorkelling and we loved it so much. As one of us was a weak swimmer, we were a bit nervous before the cruise. Before snorkelling, they provided her with a life jacket and snorkelling mask was marked with red tape so that the staff could recognise where she was in the ocean. Additionally, the staff instructed her in the ocean until she was comfortable and confident with being in the water! Thanks to their support we were able to enjoy it without any fear! Great staff, fabulous snorkelling and cruise as well as plenty of food & snacks. Highly recommended.
5 years agoCalypso cruise was so good they looked after us so well. Having 2 infants with us was not easy but all the staff made it so comfortable for the entire family. We requested for a vegetarian meal and it was catered beautifully with enough quantity. I would strongly recommend to book through Experience Oz and find great deals!
5 years agoOur experience was great! We got picked up from our hostel in the morning and taken to the port. We were then greeted at the boat by Michelle who was very friendly and helpful. We then got on board and Kelsi fitted us with our snorkelling equipment and did our brief. We then headed out to Opal reef after our biscuits and tea. The boat ride was great, a little choppy to start with due to the weather but was fine on the open water. We had 3 snorkelling sites around Opal reef, even though the weather was grey and cloudy, we still saw hundreds of fish at each site. The sun did peak through the clouds at the 2nd site which made the reef look incredible! We were also greeted by Murray the local humphead wrasse who came and said hello! Dan was great, really funny and even took us on a tour around the reef and pointed out different species of fish and coral. Kelsi was great too and helped us equalise properly so I could dive down underwater. We were also lucky enough to see not only one, but two reef sharks and the white tip reef shark was within 5m of us! We even got it on our underwater camera! Epic! Lunch was great a good selection of food and after our final snorkel, the brownies were even better! Overall the day was amazing!
