This comprehensive tour will take you to the popular Phillip Island from Melbourne for a trip to view all the island's numerous varieties of wildlife, including its famous penguin parade in the evening! Departing from Melbourne in the morning and returning around midnight (this changes seasonally), you'll have a full day to take in the wonders that help make Phillip Island one of Australia's must-visit destinations while also stopping for some photo opportunities along the way. See some great and ruggedly beautiful island scenery, colonies of seals in the wild, get up close with koalas and much more.
Your first stop for the day will be at Brighton Beach bathing boxes. Here you will have some time to admire these iconic landmarks and take great pictures. Next we head to the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you will have the chance to get up close with Australia’s cuddliest wildlife icons. Follow it up with a visit to Point Grant and the Nobbies. Enjoy the stunning geography on offer and explore the various wooden walkways which provide amazing views of the coast line. Cap it all off with the island's most famous highlight - the evening Penguin Parade of Little Penguins making their way up to the beach - and you've got one of the most robust Phillip Island tours on offer - so book online today!
“ The penguins are so cute! The optional extra - Private Guided Penguin Parade Experience - gave us the chance to watch the penguins in the very close distance - not only seating in an exclusive area but also walking along the penguins' path. The private guide was very informative. And our group guide was experienced, he saved us from wasting time in waiting for penguins and queuing for the bathroom.
This tour was fantastic, Joel was a great guide! He gave both good and helpful information along the way. Maybe a suggestion would be to offer blankets for the evening. We saw another tour who all had matching blankets.... Although it was fantastic that there was wifi on the bus!
3 years agoIt was great! I really enjoyed it. Our guide Bill was awesome. Good itinerary and good advice about where to see the penguins, also learned a lot on this tour. It was a bit cold so Bill also took us to this discount store to buy raincoats and such. Thanks!

4 years agoThis is my 2nd time doing this penguin island tour on Phillip Island. And I must say this was the best time as I don't have to be there too early to be seated and still able to find a seat. I was able to view the penguin up close even when we were walking back to the exit we sighted so many of them walking past us and we had to stop for the Penguins to cross! So glad that I made this 2nd trip to Phillip Island. Thumbs up and a must do if you have yet to visit.
4 years agoThe penguin parade experience was a great day out. Even better that it didn’t start until 11.30am! We loved being able to have a sleep in after a late flight into Melbourne and still have an adventure packed day. One tip - whatever you are thinking of wearing/taking to combat the cold, take/wear more!
4 years agoIt's a great experience to joint the tour for my first time. The coach Mr. Adam is great & his service is best. Overall I love the trip & is very enjoyable fund & experience for me.
5 years agoThe Phillip Island Tour was really amazing! The tour guide was very informative and helpful. He planned the route really well, so that we could be on schedule. The WIFI was a bit of a problem. Only 10 people could login and there were 23 people. I did not get to use the WIFI at all during the whole trip. The penguins at Phillip Island are really worth seeing!
5 years agoExcellent stops - Brighton Beach to see the colourful boxes, Moonlit Animal Sanctuary to feed wallabies and kangaroos and see native Australian animals, the Nobbies to see the penguin homes and stunning ocean views, and finally the Penguin Parade. Watching the penguins cautiously make their way across the beach was adorable and then getting to see them close up while on the boardwalk was incredible! Highly recommend this tour for families or anyone with kids and it is definitely a must for tourists who want to get up close and personal with kangaroos and wallabies. The only thing that could have improved the tour was the tour guide. He was a bit scattered and did not seem to be very confident about his information and facts. He spent a lot of time talking about inconsequential or unimportant information we didn't need to know. The stops themselves were incredible though and I know this company usually has better tour guides from previous experience.
5 years ago11/10 recommend this tour. The staff at Go West are genuinely friendly and extremely helpful. The sanctuary is unique and provided opportunities to really see the Aussie wildlife up close and personal. Additionally, the views are picture perfect and make for great keepsakes. The tour guides provide recommendations to avoid the crowds and still receive the best experience at the Penguin Parade. All in all, I'd tell anyone coming to Melbourne to do this in a heartbeat. It's worth every penny.
5 years agoWe had a great time on the phillip island penguin tour. We had a fantastic tour guide called Adam. He was so friendly and helpful and made the day even more enjoyable. The penguins were amazing and will never ever forget the experience!
5 years ago“Upgrade your viewing area tickets to the SkyBox for amazing views of the penguins leaving the surf and approaching their sand burrows. Upgrades can be paid for on the day of the tour.”
