“ What an absolutely fantastic day out, our bus driver Jim was very informative telling us about the history of Hobart, while travelling to Port Arthur. When we arrived, we had the chance for a quick morning tea break and then we all gathered for our tour of Port Arthur. The tour guide was fantastic, and so knowledgeable. I really enjoyed looking in and around the Penal colony, so much history. The boat trip was very relaxing, after our long walk around Port Arthur. The most heartbreaking thing was visiting the site of the Port Arthur massacre.

1 year agoDriver picked us up on time, the rest of the group were very friendly. Tour experience was great. Tour guide at Port Arthur, was excellent, but felt the buggy could have been more scheduled around for the elderly that have mobility problems. All other stops were brilliant. I do not usually like booked tours but having said that now Mum and I are getting older it seems the best way to go. Will definitely book another tour whilst here.
1 year agoWe visited from Hobart as a day trip. The bus ride was an easy hour and a half from Hobart. We were assigned a guide who gave us some fabulous and funny insights into the daily life of the convicts and free settlers. The buildings and homes are well preserved and you can wander freely around the place. I really enjoyed wandering through the old homes which are decorated for the time. You can take a short boat ride past the Isle of the Dead where you can rest your legs and have a coffee or snack. The site is very clean and well maintained, easy to access toilets, a gift shop and café. I really enjoyed my day.
4 years agoAn amazing historical place full of wonderful histories to discover about the history of Australia and Tasmania, the place is really beautiful and the staff is always very friendly and willing to assist, the trip to get there it's a little long but it totally worth it because it a full day trip wondering all Port Arthur.
5 years agoMy husband and I had a great time doing this tour and thanks to our tour driver Greg who was well informed and gave us some insight into what to expect once inside it was a good experience. Would highly recommend this tour!
5 years agoWe had a great day out with Mark. He made us feel welcome from the moment he picked us up at our Hotel. Mark has a wealth of knowledge and passed on a load of interesting facts to us all but in a fun way! Port Arthur was amazing and the cruise out on the bay finished it off. The highlight was the tour of the Isle of the Dead. John was the most incredible guide, made the whole experience fantastic. Once again so full of knowledge. We could have stayed there much longer hearing more of the history. Overall a most enjoyable day.
