“ Very enjoyable day, boat crew really friendly and well informed! Lunch was amazing and Sarah Island tour was really well done, Dave was amazing! Didn’t see any wildlife along the way which was surprising. The water is the most amazing colours in areas.

3 years agoThe Christmas present for my mum was amazing she loved the Gordon River Cruise it was an excellent day, we will definitely be back again one day. Lovely food and great stops along the way with 2 short walks. Book a window seat if possible. We might try the upper deck next time.
3 years agoIt was a lovely experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also, the scenery is beautiful, and the boat very quiet and comfortable. Hope to experience the Gordon River Cruise again in the future and highly recommended to others. The buffet lunch had plenty of food and drink available during the tour.
4 years agoIt was a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the walking tours were excellent. The buffet lunch was delicious and there was plenty of food and drink available for the rest of the tour. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the boat very quiet and comfortable. It was well worth the money, would do it again.
4 years agoThe Gordon River Buffet Lunch Cruise was a great experience to learn about the history of Sara Island which houses convicts. The cruise also brought us to the historical site which shows the uses of the wood obtained from various trees in the rainforest along the river. The water of the Gordon River is so clear that it mirrors the rainforest along the river. The food at the Buffet lunch was good.
4 years agoGordon River Cruise is highly recommended, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our day. It was a very peaceful journey travelling on the Gordon River. Both stops were very informative. Lunch was very delicious a lot to choose from. Staff were very attentive.
5 years agoThis cruise would be splendid on a clear and lovely day as there are many beautiful things to see. The food was very good and I liked the opportunity to get off the boat and go for a walk. It is definitely worth purchasing the window seats. The staff were very knowledgeable and willing to help.
6 years agoWhat a fantastic day this was. The weather could not have been more perfect for my Queensland visitors. The whole trip was full of interesting and historical information that kept us all spellbound. Going out to Hells Gates was really thrilling. The visit to Sarah Island was just amazing with our guide full of animation and 'funny' anecdotes about the era of convicts who lived there. The lunch served on the boat on our voyage back to Strahan was nothing short of absolutely sumptuous. Repeat servings were offered and taken especially the Salmon. A well planned and executed trip that will remain in our memories for many years to come. (Myself, a repeat visitor from 17 years previous, apart from a bigger boat, the original quality of the trip had not changed except to say that the trip reinforced what I already knew. Superb food, service (staff could not do enough for us) and timed just right. An absolute must for those who love the outdoors and the history of this fabulous area of Tasmania).
7 years agoWhen visiting Strahan taking a boat trip on Macquarie Harbour is a must. The trip take 5 hours with very comfortable seats, superb commentary and a delicious lunch. Not only do you see the Gates of Hell, by passing through the harbour entrance, but you also travel up the Gordan River to the World Renowned temperate rainforest, and have time to visit and learn about Sarah Island. An experience not to be missed!
7 years agoWe had an absolutely amazing time on the Gordon River Cruise. The scenery was breathtaking. The cruise ship was very comfortable. The cruise itself was a little expensive for four people, but worth every penny. Be warned, the only mobile service provider is Telstra. If you are not Telstra be prepared to have no contact with anyone during your stay. Wifi is available. All in all, amazing.
7 years ago“Remember to bring a warm jacket so you can head outside and enjoy the views from the outside decks in comfort.”
